About Eddie Moore
Eddie Moore is a dedicated Law Enforcement Officer with over 30 years of public safety experience.
He currently serves as Undersheriff of the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office and is seeking election to
continue providing strong, accountable leadership for the residents of DuPage County.
In 1988 Eddie enlisted in the United States Army, serving with the 82nd Airborne Division stationed in
North Carolina. After receiving an honorable discharge, he enrolled in school while employed as a
loss prevent agent at local retail establishments.
Eddie joined the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office in 1995 as a correctional deputy and graduated from
the Police Training Institute in February 1996. In 2002, he transferred to the Law Enforcement
Bureau, where he served with distinction as a Patrol Deputy, Detective, Patrol Sergeant, and
Detective Sergeant.
Eddie’s commitment to public safety drove his attendance of multiple training programs, culminating
in his graduation from the Northwestern University School of Police Staff Command, a prestigious
leadership and management program preparing senior law enforcement executives.
Eddie’s unwavering dedication and extensive experience led DuPage County Sheriff James Mendrick
to entrust him by appointing Moore to Chief of the Administrative Bureau in 2018.
In 2020, Sheriff Mendrick recognized Eddie’s talent for leadership and experience with Corrections,
Investigations, Patrol, and Administrative operations by appointing Moore Undersheriff of the DuPage
County Sheriff’s Office where he directs daily operations.
Undersheriff Moore is the first senior administrator in the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office to become a
member of the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE). He is also a
member of the Illinois Sheriffs’ Association, National Sheriffs’ Association, and the International
Association of Chiefs of Police.
Deeply engaged in his community, Eddie serves as a Board Member of the DuPage County
Employee Credit Union, a Civil Service Commissioner for the City of West Chicago, and a member of
the Hundred Club of DuPage County. He is also the founder of a program dedicated to eliminating
food insecurity among senior citizens.
A devoted husband and father, Eddie Moore resides in West Chicago where he lives with his family
and remains committed to serving the community he calls home.
